Het Badhuys | Interior Design  project

category Retail Design in Breda, The Netherlands

In the early 30’s where bathing was a public, social & essential part of our society.

The philosophy from the owners for their new bathroom experience store & creative workspace concept was that Het Badhuys needed to be accessible and affordable for everybody. People are invited to enter the experience store for inspiration, a good conversation or a coffee. Exactly the function the former Bathing houses had for their visitors.

In the past a grid was used to create small intimate bathrooms when people wanted to bath privately

In cooperation with Simone Pullens we added characteristic elements from the past into the new showroom like the typical blue tiles, the separate bathrooms (intimate but open) and the grid attached to the ceiling amongst other things. In the past this grid was used to create small intimate bathrooms when people wanted to bath privately in a furthermore open and public space. Now this grid guides the visitors along the different bathrooms where now and then a white curtain pops up to unveil more inspiration.
